We wanted Postcard Thing to capture the joy and creativity of curating that people would experience when they made physical mixtapes and CDs for other people, and we did that by imposing some of those constraints that have since gone away with digital streaming capabilities. A Postcard Thing can carry a maximum of 12 songs, and once it’s sent the tracklist can’t be edited.
Users can customize the photo on the Postcard similar to how they might change the cover art for a playlist, as well as write a personal message of 500 characters are less—it needs to fit on the page!
