In designing the mobile application, we focused on the personal experience of looking back on an archive of location-based artifacts, as well as the social experience of creating and sharing audio-based memories.
The app is designed to enable discovery, through the “stories”-style landing page when a user opens the app, and social collaboration, via shared trips and crumbs.
In addition to transcription, users can augment audio recordings by adding metadata such as notes and photos.
Finally, the mobile app design emphasizes the inherent narrative nature of breadcrumb trails, displaying them as journeys in space (map view) and time (calendar view).
